The club is known for having showcased musical and performing artists ranging from the Ramones to the Jim Rose Circus, Garbage to GWAR, but is perhaps equally famous for its "bouncing" dance floor which is unique of its own kind. The Clash played their first North American concert at the venue in 1979.

The Commodore Ballroom has an excellent food menu and full service kitchen that is open for most events.
