For Reds Redland Field was opened in 1912. Near the end of 1910's, Red finally began to come out of the second division. In 1933 Reds went in to Bankruptcy but it was Powel Crosley Jr. who bought the team thus saving them from their bankruptcy. Arrival of the new ownership was followed by the arrival of new general manager as well. After team's revival Larry MacPhail filled the spot for team's general manager. Apart from owning Cincinnati Reds, Powel Crosley Jr. was also the founder and creator of WLW radio and the Crosley Broadcasting Corporation which was also located in Cincinnati. This was also the main reason for why WLW remained Reds radio flagship for many years. Cincinnati Red minor league system was also introduced by teams' new general manager Larry MacPhail, and apart from doing that MacPhail was also able to expand the Red's Base. The team of Reds, during the time of 1930's was referred to as the team of "Firsts". It was in 1935 when Crosley Field became the first proud host of the first night game.
During the era of World War II, Reds performance stayed just fine as by the late 1940's and early 1950's Reds usually finished in the second division. On the part of Cincinnati Reds Joe Nuxhall, who played for Reds is the proud holder of the record of being the youngest player ever to play in a Major League Baseball game.
