Weiland was released from jail, and the band reunited and released their fourth album in 1999. It proved to be another hit in the market again. Although they could not get the appreciation of the music critics, but still their fans were still showing their loyalty with the band.

In the year 2001, the band released their fifth album, Shangri-La Dee Da. ‘Days of the Week' and ‘Hollywood Bitch' were two modest rock hits. In the year 2003 the members of STP separated their ways again. The DeLeo brothers formed another band named, Army of Anyone, and released their debut album in 2006.

In January, 2008, Stone Temple Pilots arranged mini concert followed by a press conference and announced their large US tour that will last for 6 months. Also on a Miami Herald blog posted that Scott Weiland made it known publicly during a press conference that ‘the public should be on the lookout for an STP reunion in the coming months'.
