At high school, he had become a renowned DJ at parties. After this, Kid Rock joined Bo Wisdom of Groove Time Productions, in Mt. Clemens. This served as a ladder to success and fame for Kid Rock. This is where he began to be known as Kid Rock.
Struggle and Success
Kid Rock worked hard for another 8 years, once he has gain independence from Jive Records. His album "Devil Without A Cause" earned him sales worth more than 11 million. Later, Kid Rock made his transition and joined Southern Rock an Country Music. He wanted to move with time, and learn what people wanted to hear. This move paid off and soon he managed a huge hit with the popular Sheryl Crow.
Super Hits
By the year 1992, Kid Rock earned an independent record label, Continuum Records. After this he released his second album, popularly known as The Polyfuze Method 1993. This album gained fame on the college radio at Central Michigan University. The song "Back From The Dead" was a top 20 hit. His next album "U Don't Know Me", however failed to earn him the earlier fame and could not make to the charts. Continuum went bankrupt and Kid Rock was out of business.
As a last effort to survive, Kid Rock added drummer/vocalist Stefanie Eulinberg to his band in the year 1997 to 1999. After the album "Devil Without a Cause" , another was launched which was titled "Welcome 2 The Party" in August 1998. Kid Rock went on the Vans Warped Tour to advertise this album.
Kid Rock dated actress/model Pamela Anderson during this time. He released Cocky, which was forerunner to Devil Without a Cause. It had Kid Rock's staple sound of rap rock and funk, as well as some of his country blues. However, it was a disappointment, and it did not sell much.
A New Direction 2003-2006:
In 2003, Kid Rock bounced back once more. The first single from his new self-entitled album was a country/hard rock cover of Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love". "Single Father" became his second country hit in 2004. With a range of other new numbers on it, the album did reasonably well. Fans can look forward to a release from Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker, called "Rock And Roll Jesus", which is expected to be out by October 9, 2007.
