Brad Paisley soon became an American country music singer, virtuoso guitarist, and songwriter from Glen Dale, West Virginia. Paisley signed a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing after graduating from Belmont. He wrote David Kersh's top 5 hit, "Another You", as well as cuts by Tracy Byrd and David Ball.
The song, "Who Needs Pictures", acted as Paisley's debut song thus proving him as a singer with the label Arista Nashville. The song was released on February 22, 1999. He also appeared on the Grand Ole Opry for the first time the same year. The song, "He Didn't Have To Be", was his first #1 hit.
